Tree Cabling and Bracing

Tree Cabling and Bracing

Tree support systems are used to provide supplemental support to leaders, individual branches, and/or entire trees. Cables and braces provide supplemental support by limiting the movement of the branches or leaders. When a tree has a structural defect or condition that poses a high risk of failure, which may result in injury or property damage, a supplemental support system can often reduce the risk. There are many types of support systems that can be applied in different situations. A tree may require a static steel cable, dynamic nylon rope system, steel through bolt, wooden prop, the options are as unique as each tree. While not all potential hazards can be mitigated by the installation of a tree support system, it is essential that each tree be carefully examined by a qualified arborist who will be able to determine the best course of action.
